It's clear. It's direct. IT IS NEW LIFE!
Baptism is a sacrament and means of grace, meaning it is a special time of God pouring his grace into your life. At Amazing Grace, this is something we celebrate together as a church family!
We are made new in Christ Jesus. Christians are people who believe the blood of Jesus Christ which was shed on the cross provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, we believe salvation occurs when we place our faith in the death and resurrection of Christ - sin is washed away and you are made new! What an exciting promise!
BAPTISM IS A STATEMENT OF YOUR NEW LIFE AS PART OF GOD'S PEOPLE.
In the Bible, baptism meant you were now part of God's family and the worldwide Church. It is a statement saying you desire to join with God's people and God's mission to redeem the world, to proclaim and live out the life of a Jesus follower. Baptism says you are ready to enter into a larger calling and purpose for your life. Baptism brings you into the life and community of God's mission to save the world. It calls you to commitment to the local church. It is a statement of your commitment to our mission of Creating Christward Community.
Listen to Dr. Brent Peterson from NNU explain more about baptism and God's people.

Getting ready for the day
Since we practice baptism by immersion, wear dark colored clothing you do not mind getting wet.Typically, people were dark shorts and a dark t-shirt although some may choose to wear pants. You may want to bring sandals or flip-flops to wear as you walk around. Since baptisms are at the end of the service, you will be able to use the changing rooms behind the baptismal at the conclusion of the service. There will be someone to help you into the baptismal and down the steps. Also, don’t forget to invite your family and friends to join the celebration and be a part of this special day!

___ Dark t-shirt and dark shorts (or bathing suit under clothes)
___ Change of clothes
___ Large towel (for drying off)
